Electrical Certifications & Local Compliance

At ofLight, we take pride in ensuring our curated international fixtures are ready for North American installation. All applicable fixtures undergo rigorous testing and are supplied with standard North American safety certifications (such as cUL, cETL, or CSA) prior to dispatch.

However, because building codes and electrical compliance requirements vary significantly by country, state, province, and municipality (particularly between residential and commercial applications), it remains the responsibility of the purchaser and their licensed electrical contractor to verify that our standard certifications meet the specific, local requirements of their exact jurisdiction prior to purchase.

  • ofLight cannot be held liable for fixtures rejected by local inspectors due to hyper-local code variations.
  • We are not responsible for any costs associated with additional on-site field evaluations, project delays, modifying, or returning fixtures that do not meet a municipality's specific local codes.

Our Concierge Service

While ofLight does not carry its own distinct warranty, we proudly act as your warranty concierge during the manufacturer's coverage period. Whether you are purchasing from Schneid Studio, Marz Designs, SKLO, David Pompa, Object Interface, SLAMP, or TomNuk, we handle the communication, information collection, and paperwork required by the brand to process claims smoothly.

Coverage & Exclusions

During the manufacturer's warranty period, defective products or parts may be repaired or replaced solely at the manufacturer's discretion. The following scenarios are explicitly excluded from warranty coverage:

  • Accidental damage, including drops, bumps, or misuse.
  • Faulty installation that does not strictly adhere to manufacturer instructions.
  • Normal wear and tear, including gradual fading, patina, or surface wear.
  • Unauthorized alterations, modifications, neglect, or abuse.
Finish variations that are inherent to blown glass or natural materials.
  • Light bulbs, which are provided only as a courtesy accommodation and are not warrantied.

Shipping Policy

Order Processing & Fulfillment

We understand the importance of receiving your lighting products safely and promptly. Because our showroom curates high-end, specialized fixtures, all listed lead times are estimates provided for your project planning purposes. Once an order is placed, our team will provide a luminaire schedule and approval drawings where applicable. As soon as your order ships, we will provide a confirmation email containing your tracking information.

Shipping Methods & Timelines

We collaborate with specialized logistics providers chosen specifically for their experience, careful handling, and cost-effectiveness.

  • To ensure the safe arrival of delicate or fragile items, ocean freight may be utilized instead of air freight. Please note that ocean freight can add up to four additional weeks to the standard shipping timeline.
  • We cannot be held responsible for transit delays caused by external factors such as strikes, blockades, customs holds, or unforeseen logistical circumstances.
  • If your product requires North American safety certification, the testing facility's workload and courier transit times may impact your final delivery date.
International Shipping, Duties, & Taxes

For orders shipping to the United States, ofLight is not responsible for any import duties, customs taxes, or brokerage fees. All US orders are shipped DDU (Delivered Duties Unpaid).

  • Any customs fees, local taxes, or import duties levied by the destination country are the sole financial responsibility of the purchaser and will be collected by the courier upon delivery.
  • Refusal to pay these fees will result in the shipment being abandoned or returned. In such cases, the customer remains responsible for the original purchase price, all shipping costs, and any return brokerage fees incurred by ofLight.
  • Please note that cross-border shipments may be subject to customs clearance procedures, which can cause delivery delays beyond our original estimates.
Inspection & The Labor Cost Disclaimer

To provide absolute peace of mind, our team personally inspects all fragile items prior to your pickup or final delivery, checking for minor scratches, missing hardware, or factory defects.

  • Important: ofLight cannot reimburse electrician labor costs, contractor fees, equipment rental fees, or project delays caused by shipping timelines, damaged goods, or defective items.
  • We strongly advise that you do not schedule installation or book electrical contractors until your order has safely arrived, been unpacked, and fully inspected.

By picking up the items or accepting them on-site, you acknowledge that the goods were received in good condition.

Return Policy

Special Orders & Final Sales

To offer competitive pricing and an extensive curated selection, the vast majority of our products are sourced directly from our international manufacturing partners and are classified as Special Orders. Because these items are manufactured, finished, and shipped specifically for your order, Special Order products are strictly final sale and are not eligible for return or exchange.

  • Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to info@oflight.design within 48 hours of the original transaction.
  • After 48 hours, the order is submitted to the manufacturer for production and cannot be modified, canceled, or refunded under any circumstances.
